A 78-year-old from Eggendorf im Traunkreis in Upper Austria probably owes his survival to the concern of his relatives and the quick deployment of a police patrol. The family raised the alarm out of concern and the two officers found the senior lying on the floor of his home with severe hypothermia.
On Tuesday at 6:45 p.m., a 58-year-old from Eggendorf in Traunkreis filed a police report because she was concerned about her 78-year-old uncle because she had not heard from him for two days, he could no longer be reached by telephone and the light in the blocked object lights up.
The investigation was carried out by officers from the Neuhofen/Krems police station and they managed to enter the building.
Unresponsive, lying on the floor
Police found the pensioner unconscious at 7.05pm, lying on the floor in the unheated room. The officers immediately provided first aid and immediately alerted the rescue service and the emergency doctor. The 78-year-old may have fallen at an unknown time and was unable to help himself up.
To the hospital with severe hypothermia
After receiving initial care from the Neuhofen/Krems Red Cross, he was taken to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz with severe hypothermia.
