The animal shelter assumes that it is a stray dog from abroad that the alleged animal rights activist brought home. “We really don’t judge when someone wants to save an animal and understand that there is a lot of compassion. But you have to be aware that you take responsibility and cannot pass it on to a metal chain,” the employees of the animal shelter emphasize.
For the sake of space, the bitch is in the cat house
The approximately three-year-old four-legged friend is currently still very scared and may have had two to three litters in the past. Since the space capacities in Baden are also completely exhausted, the bitch must currently be in the cat house. “It’s no fun for our cats, they are always scared of barking, and it’s anything but ideal for the dog.” The quarantine area for sick animals is also currently overcrowded.
Similar cases five years ago
It is currently unclear who exposed the dog lady. “But we already had situations like this about five years ago,” remembers animal caretaker Kerstin Stolz. At that time, even at intervals of a few weeks, several street dogs were tied with such chains in front of the animal shelter.
The “rescuer” should have done everything possible to remain anonymous this time. In the animal shelter it is assumed that the employees were spied on beforehand and the times when someone comes and goes were known to the dog owner.
