“Significant Risk” – Chinese Missile Crashed Uncontrollably Into Earth

Date:

According to US data, a Chinese rocket has crashed uncontrollably from space. The Long March 5B rocket entered Earth’s atmosphere over the Indian Ocean on Saturday, the US Army Space Department said on Twitter. The US Space Command gave no further details. The Chinese government must provide information about possible debris and the location of the impact.

However, NASA chief Bill Nelson accused Beijing of not releasing information about the rocket’s trajectory, which was irresponsible and risky. “All space countries should adhere to best practices and do their part by sharing this kind of information in advance,” he said on Twitter on Saturday.

Particularly in the case of missiles such as the “Long March 5B” there is a “significant risk of loss of life and property” from debris.

China continues to build space station
Last Sunday, the rocket launched the unmanned module “Wentian”, the second of three modules for the Chinese space station “Tiangong”. The space station is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year and have a 10-year lifespan.

The People’s Republic has invested billions in its space programs in recent years to catch up with the US and Russia.
