Curious: After an innocent walk, a Styrian woman was questioned by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. A banned machine gun is suspected – or was it just a New Year’s Eve cracker?
If the phone rings and is answered by a gentleman posing as an officer of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, then at first one will certainly think it is the “wrong film” or an attempted fraud by a fake police officer , which are no longer uncommon. In any case, a woman from Styria was surprised when this happened to her. In this case, however, the request was sincere. And also take it seriously.
A resident had reported that a machine gun salvo had been fired in the Styrian-Burgenland border area near Fürstenfeld and Deutsch Kaltenbrunn. A weapon known to be banned in Austria.
Only one car was parked
The investigation revealed that the only car parked in this area – an area of fields and meadows – belonged to the woman from Styria; hence the question: Was a machine gun involved?
But the Styrian woman was able to credibly assure that she only walked the dogs with her family – completely unarmed. And she was referring to the date of the ad, December 31. Maybe some “early hits” were already on the way. It will be further investigated.
