Heated discussion – “Corsage” as an Oscar film: damage to Austria?

Date:

The fact that the Sisi drama “Corsage” with Florian Teichtmeister as Emperor Franz Joseph was not long ago proactively removed from the race for the most famous film award divides opinion.

During filming, Florian Teichtmeister took the camera from his mobile phone. He wrote despicable fantasies about abuse and violence for the pictures of an underage co-star. According to the police file, he may have also filmed a child’s legs. On February 8, the confessing actor, who is still presumed innocent, has to answer to the judge in the Viennese regional court.

Worldwide coverage of the case
Teichtmeister also played with minors in the Sisi movie “Corsage”. The shooting of director Marie Kreutzer’s masterpiece was completed in July 2021. Shortly afterwards, Teichtmeister’s mobile phone containing the disturbing images was seized by the police. Around the world, from “The Times of India” to the “Hollywood Reporter,” media outlets are reporting the 58,000 child pornography files found in the Wiener documenting the abuse of tens of thousands of child souls.

“Child abuse is played out here”
In “Corsage”, Teichtmeister plays Emperor Franz Joseph. The fact that the film, as an Austrian candidate for the foreign Oscar, was not proactively withdrawn from the race divides opinion.
