A coach from the Czech Republic suddenly caught fire in the middle of the highway on Monday. The driver acted quickly and above all correctly and quickly brought the 23 occupants to safety.
A Czech coach carrying 23 Taiwanese passengers started to catch fire on the Westautobahn (A1) near Eberstalzell (Wels-Land district) on Monday afternoon. According to the police, the cause may have been a cable fire in the luggage compartment.

A passenger saw smoke in the bus and raised the alarm. The driver parked directly on the emergency lane, brought the occupants to safety and extinguished the fire with a powder fire extinguisher. No one was injured, police said.
The right lane was closed for approximately two hours until the towing company was able to recover the vehicle. There was a slight backlog on the highway.
