The Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, Arantxa Tapia, reported that the Euskadi Territorial Sectoral Plan (PTS) for Renewable Energies has gone a step further by submitting to the Territory Planning Commission report.

The Environmental Impact Report (DIA) of the wind farm of labraza is a fact, and the project of azazeta It is “imminent”, as the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, Arantxa Tapia, informed the Board of Directors today. Similarly, it estimates that the wind farm in Labraza can be implemented by the end of 2024 and that of Azazeta in 2025.
The Wind farm Labraza, promoted by the company Aixeindar (formed by the Basque energy entity and Iberdrola) in Oyón (Álava), will provide 8 wind turbines and will have a generation capacity of 40 MW. Being a project affecting the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and Navarre, it has required a ministerial treatment which has been successfully completed.
The installation of azazeta, with 8 generators and a generating capacity of 40MW, will be located in the municipalities of Alegría-Dulantzi, Iruraiz Gauna, San Millán/Donemiliaga, Arraia Maeztu and Bernedo. As in the case of Labraza, the promoter is Aixeindar. The Basque government is currently finalizing the environmental impact statement of the Azazeta facility and processing will be completed with the approval of the special plan by the Provincial Council of Álava.
At present, the Basque Country generates 10% of its energy and the Basque government’s goal is to reach 15% by 2030 using renewable sources.

Similarly, Minister Tapia has informed the Board of Directors that the Territorial Sectoral Plan (PTS) for renewable energies — an instrument for planning the territory of the Basque Country — goes a step further by submitting to the report of the Territorial Planning Commission.
