Natascha Kampusch published her fourth book last year entitled “Show Strength. Coping strategies for a powerful life”. A book that comes at the right time, as the author herself says. “It is a book that will help every generation in the long run for decades to come. It is not something that specifically came out of the zeitgeist, but it fits very well with this time.” Kampusch wants to meet people where they are. “It shouldn’t be an instruction,” she explains in a conversation with Jana Pasching. Through her personal biography, the advisor could rather be seen as a “guiding hand”.
It’s been 16 years since Natascha Kampusch escaped her dungeon in Lower Austria. She has already written a number of books, why does she now decide to write a guide? “I didn’t want to attract attention at the time by pretending to have inhaled wisdom with a ladle,” Kampusch explains. “That’s why I held back.” Kampusch is now so aware of her personal power that she wonders: why not share it with other people?
With her book, the author wants to help those who find themselves in a difficult situation. You should give your wounds time and not follow your own development in the smallest details. “Life is life, what has happened has happened. You don’t have to suppress it, you don’t have to keep warming it up,” says Kampusch. Often you only see afterwards what you have achieved. Right now, you don’t feel particularly strong, says Kampusch.

Natascha Kampusch currently lives financially from her books, she explains. She is still often recognized on the street today, even by many people who look at her rather critically. Already in her first interview, at the time for the ORF, Kampusch, who was only 18 at the time, stated on television that she did not want to be a victim. According to the author, many did not understand that. Nowadays, she likes to spend her free time in nature and horseback riding, as she says.
