In the German Upper Palatinate, the police found explosives in two 13-year-olds. One of the two boys in particular would have behaved suspiciously on the internet. A police spokesperson said he had been conducting intensive investigations into amok attacks.

In chat groups, for example, one of the boys would have acted where problems had arisen in previous amok attacks or where the perpetrators had been arrested. According to the initial findings, the 13-year-old would have spent a lot of time investigating attacks.

The detectives were aware of the suspects’ chats and plans in a very short time and saw a concrete danger, according to the police. You should already have a specific goal in mind. Had the plan been carried out, it would have put several people at risk. On Monday, three apartments were therefore searched for a court ruling.

Explosives belonged to relative
As reported, the officers found explosives and other prohibited items. They also seized mobile phones and computers. The explosives belonged to a relative who, according to the current status, was unaware of the youths’ plans. However, the man is being investigated for possible violations of the explosives law. Authorities believe he took the material home without permission. The two teenagers are still in a psychiatric clinic.
