Despite the increase, this represents only 13% of the working population. The data is still far from the European average, which is almost double the Basque figure (24%).
He teleworking increase in Euskadi 16.1% in the last quarter of last year, compared to the same period in 2022. However, it is still an option almost residualand it is only used by just over 1 in 10 working people.
As shown by the latest survey of the Adecco Employment Opportunities and Satisfaction Monitor of the Adecco Group Institute, 139,100 people currently telework in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV), i.e. 13.1%, five points more than in 2019. In fact this is the seventh consecutive quarter of growth. The state average is slightly higher than the Basque average, 13.6%.
If we compare the data with that of the European Union, there is still a significant gap: the European average is located in the 24.1%. Of the twenty European countries analyzed, Basque data only exceeds that of Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Croatia and Italy (the latter in hundredths).
The study also analyzed the evolution of part-time workers in the Basque Country. The CAV heads the Spanish state, with 16% of people working under these types of contracts. This percentage is only 1.8 points lower than the EU average.
