The Basque exhibitor at the Madrid International Tourism Fair got the award for stand best in the Institutions and Autonomous Communities category for its “innovative design and use of new technologies”.
The pavilion takes up the style of mid-century theaters in its design with the aim of framing this year’s motto: “Euskadi, the stage of gastronomy”. Likewise, it contains a technological claim at its entrance to savor the attention of the visitor, to whom it proposes one sensory journey that goes from the product to the plate.
The path starts at the water and through an immersive entrance, the visitor experiences the rain sensorially to later discover the landscape heritage and natural wealth of the Basque Country, where the quality product comes from. The tour ends in a semi-open kitchen in the form of a large theater that shows the visitor one of the greatest assets of the Basque Country: its internationally recognized gastronomy.
The Minister of Tourism, Trade and Consumption, Javier Hurtado, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition. He stressed that “the jury recognized Euskadi’s commitment to a innovative design, with an innovative use of new technologies and that adapts to the varied, rich, quality and innovative offer of our community”.
Gastronomy, as Hurtado has pointed out, is “one of the main tourist attractions of the Basque Country” and for this reason, he specified, the design of the stand “aims to record the visitor’s journey through our territory until they reach it achieve the tasty goal, which is to taste the product.
