“Misimagined” – Navalny is sentenced to solitary confinement for the twelfth time

Date:

Putin opponent Alexei Navalny, who is serving his sentence at the IK-6 colony in Russia’s Vladimir region of Melekhovo, has been transferred back to solitary confinement. As the opposition’s Twitter account says, the reason this time is that he “didn’t properly introduce himself”.

“Oh, my luxurious and elitist stay of almost two months in the ‘good’ cell (coffee and two books) has been ruthlessly cut short – now they’ve sent me back down the hall to the ‘bad’ cell (kettle and a book), ” wrote Navalny on the online network.

“Management couldn’t handle ‘Oscar'”
“Obviously management couldn’t handle the ‘Oscar’ and decided that two books and an Oscar in jail was too much. Logically. But of course that doesn’t take away the question of why some people get an ‘Oscar’ while I’m in solitary confinement,” says Navalny.

In mid-March, the documentary “Navalny” by Canadian director Daniel Roher was awarded an “Oscar”. The comic sheds light on the political rise of the lateral thinker, his poisoning in 2020 and his arrest after his return to Russia in January 2021. Navalny said on Twitter that he was “terribly happy” but wanted to state that “he is not the Oscar.

So far, the regime’s critic is scheduled to spend 15 days in solitary confinement. Navalny has to move to solitary confinement for the twelfth time since August. The reasons for his transfer were always more than lame.

harassment in prison
For example, the politician washed too early, did not put on his jacket or did not close a button of his robe properly. The critic was last placed in solitary confinement at the end of January – also because he had not properly introduced himself. At the time, he had to live in the strictest confinement for about 60 percent of his time over a six-month period.
