“More powerful weapons” – tanks for Ukraine: Moscow warns of “disaster”

Date:

The possible delivery of main battle tanks to Ukraine is also being closely monitored in Moscow. Now Russia’s head of parliament has drawn attention with a warning: “The supply of offensive weapons to the Kiev regime is leading to a global catastrophe,” Vyacheslav Volodin said on social media on Sunday. In this case, Russia would even use “more powerful weapons”.

If the US and NATO countries provide Kiev with weapons that will be used to retake territory, Russia will see this as an attack on its territory, the head of the State Duma said. Russia had annexed the territories itself with tanks and other heavy weapons.

Call to Germany: “Responsibility to Humanity”
The members of the German Bundestag and parliaments in other countries should be aware of their “responsibility to humanity,” Volodin said. Such decisions led to a “terrible war” with combat operations completely different from those before.

Volodin indirectly threatened with weapons of mass destruction
“Taking into account the technological superiority of Russian weapons, foreign politicians making such decisions should understand that this may end in a tragedy of global magnitude that will destroy their country,” Volodin said. During the war, which had been going on for almost a year, the nuclear power Russia had repeatedly stated that it would also “defend” the incorporated regions with all the means at its disposal. “The arguments that nuclear powers have not historically used weapons of mass destruction in local conflicts are untenable,” Volodin said.

NATO countries have already provided Ukraine with many heavy weapons that can also be used to retake territory, including artillery and multiple rocket launchers.
