The French president and his German counterpart have agreed on their willingness to provide Ukraine with “all necessary support, by all means necessary” as long as the conflict does not escalate.

French President Emmanuel Macron assured that on Sunday does not rule out Leclerc tanks being sent to Ukrainealthough he pointed out that three conditions must be met, including that there is no escalation in the conflict.
“I have asked the defense minister to work on this, nothing is excluded,” he assured. Macron at the joint press conference with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, at the end of a Franco-German cabinet meeting.
Macron has pointed it outthree conditions so that this dispatch can finally take place: that it does not mean an escalation of the conflict, that Ukrainian soldiers are ready to deploy it and that it does not affect the capabilities of the French defenses.
The French leader has indicated that coordination work to decide what to do with Ukraine’s requests to the West for heavy tanks will continue “in the coming days and weeks” with other allies, including Germany.
Macron has recalled that France has already delivered a lot of military equipment to Ukrainesuch as 18 examples of the Caesar self-propelled heavy artillery system, ammunition, anti-aircraft missiles or infantry fighting vehicles.
For his part, German Chancellor Olaf Scholztoday expressed the total agreement between his country and France in its will to give Ukraine “all the support it needs”, as long as “it is necessary” and “with the means necessary”, be it financial, humanitarian or arms.
