Terrible accident Monday evening in deep winter East Tyrol: three children aged 6, 8 and 9 slid down a slope in Nikolsdorf with a so-called snow tube, an inflatable rubber tire, ended up on a municipal road and collided with a car ! The children suffered injuries.
The serious accident happened just after 7 p.m. A 42-year-old local man drove his car east on the snowy municipal road in Nikolsdorf. Due to the bad weather conditions – there was a lot of snow – snow chains were mounted on the car and the driver drove slowly.

“Suddenly and completely unexpectedly,” said the police, “the three children, coming from a slope in Hochstatt, came with their snow tube on the municipal road and collided with the car.”
With rescue and parents to the hospital
The children suffered serious injuries. It is not known how heavy these are exactly. After receiving first aid, they were taken by ambulance or in a private car to Lienz District Hospital in the presence of their parents. There was minor damage to the 42-year-old’s car.
