A teacher at a secondary school in Graz is said to have extorted nude photos of underage students – using fake accounts. He has been under investigation since early November. Now the bang: the police have arrested the Styrian. He allegedly urged a student to give false testimony.
The case discovered by the “Krone” caused a sensation. The teacher is said to have obtained nude photos of his underage students through a messaging service. He pretended to be a girl through fake profiles and came into contact with the boys (14 years and older). He may have later seduced the students into recording sexual acts. As a “reward” there was money in the form of voucher codes.
When the boys grew suspicious, they turned to a guidance counselor last fall. The director of the school then lodged a complaint with the police – the case took off.
The Styrian CID then took over the investigation and also conducted a house search. The detectives have secured electronic data carriers. The suspect (he is accused of pornographic images of minors and abuse of power) was always unwilling. He has so far not made any statements to the authorities and in some cases has also refused access to the secure storage media. An expert is still reviewing the electronic evidence.
Victims were urged to make false statements
Now the man is also suspected of having contacted at least one of the victims through fake social media accounts. He allegedly urged the boy to give false testimony to the police. In addition, the Grazer allegedly tried to suppress evidence of newly purchased electronic devices.
Ex-teacher in prison
On Wednesday, the man was arrested at his home address by criminals and the “Fast Intervention Group”. The former educator was again uncooperative and gave no information about the allegations. Police officers have recently secured electronic evidence, which is also being evaluated.
The arrested person was transferred to the Graz-Jakomini prison. The exact number of underage victims has not yet been determined. However, numerous cases have already been confirmed. The investigations are still ongoing.
