The occupied territories of Ukraine will be switched to Moscow time “in the near future”. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade on its official Telegram channel. Until now, the time difference between Kiev and Moscow is one hour.
In Moscow it is currently two hours later than in Austria – currently because there is no change to summer time in this time zone. There are a total of seven time zones in Russia, which differ from Austria by up to 13 hours.

Moscow time should now also get the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson. In any case, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced this plan on its official Telegram channel. “The gradual approximation of Russian legislation will continue after the incorporation of the four new entities into the Russian Federation. In the near future, the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson will be included in the second time zone, which uses Moscow time,” the report said, according to TASS. The corresponding draft law has already been submitted to the Russian government.
Previously, all four regions used Kiev time. There it is one hour later than in Austria, there is a time change to summer time. According to the state news agency TASS, the new regional authorities already have “de facto Moscow time”, but the new draft law would prescribe this order. To go from Kiev to Moscow, the clock must be moved forward one hour.
