The Vienna Medical Association warned on Sunday of a reduction in birthing capacity in Viennese hospitals. Appropriate steps are foreseen in the Regulation on the “Vienna Regional Health Structure Plan 2025”. The ordinance is currently available for review, the chamber announced.
According to the medical association, the plan is to convert the gynecological departments in the Hietzing and Landstraße clinics into so-called outpatient clinics. That means births can no longer take place there, it says. According to the medical association, both clinics are currently responsible for about 2,700 deliveries each year.
