At least 17 killed and 90 injured in suicide attack on Pakistani mosque

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The explosion caused part of the roof to collapse, so numerous victims could be trapped in the rubble.

At least 28 people have died and another 150 were injured in a suicide bombing against a mosque in the city of Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, as reported by the provincial governor.

A police officer in Peshawar told EFE that a suicide bomber detonated his charge inside the mosque, which was especially busy during the afternoon prayer. The police found traces of explosives in the mosque.

That’s what the police are counting on there were at least 260 people inside. The explosion has to collapse of a part from the roof of the mosque, which is why it is feared that many more victims are still trapped in the rubble.

The mosque is located in a complex that includes the provincial police headquarters and an anti-terrorism department, so the police could be the target of the attack.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
