A 23-year-old Viennese was arrested in the Neunkirchen district on Monday evening, suspected of two completed robberies and such an attempted crime. Three officers were injured when they tried to stop them. The use of firearms was also discussed.
The suspect is said to have visited a tobacco shop in Aspang-Markt around 6 p.m. It was an attempted robbery. This was followed by two shops in the community. No one was injured. The perpetrator fled with the loot in a car, reports police spokeswoman Manuela Weinkirn.
No injuries when attempting to stop
During the alarm search with various police units, attempts were made to stop the vehicle, which the driver resisted. He allegedly ran over an officer’s foot. Two colleagues later had to save themselves by jumping to the side. Last but not least, a company car was touched. The use of firearms was also discussed. No one was injured.
The Viennese was finally arrested after about an hour in Grimmenstein, also in the Neunkirchen district. The crime scene and the robbery group of the National Criminal Investigation Department have taken over the investigation.
