A drunken Tyrolean seriously injured a guest in a restaurant. The real reason for the incident could not be fully clarified even during a court case at the Innsbruck Regional Court. In any case, the attacker must now be held in custody – it is not the first time he has been convicted.
For no apparent reason, the 40-year-old allegedly poured beer on another guest in a café in Imst in September last year and then hit him twice in the face with the bottle. “I had an argument with my mother that day about the sale of real estate,” the suspect said in court in Innsbruck on Tuesday.
Apparently he wanted to drown his frustration in alcohol. “I must have had seven large beers and seven to eight Jägermeister in three hours,” said the man, who recently became a chef at a Tyrolean ski resort.

The man, who has been convicted three times, vehemently denied ape other local guests, as he claimed, and laughed at them. “I also hit my opponent unintentionally and only hit out of reflex,” the suspect cursed. Of course, he is very sorry that he suffered fractures of the left zygomatic arch as a result.
The jury sentenced the 40-year-old to 18 months in prison, six of which were unconditional. The man immediately accepted the verdict.
