On Wednesday morning there were several operations after a heavy thunderstorm in Vienna. Public transport was also partially interrupted. For example, the route of tram lines O and 18 in Vienna-Landstrasse had to be closed for several hours after the roof of a house was badly damaged.
Line O could only run between the stops Raxstraße and Quartier Belvedere-S or between Rennweg-S and Bruno-Marek-Allee. From Rennweg, Wiener Linien continued to run trains to St. Marx. Line 18 was disrupted between Quartier Belvedere and St. Marx. However, the two routes were reopened around 10:30 a.m., a spokeswoman said.

Late Tuesday evening, a tree also cut a supply line in the Lainzer Straße area. There was a short-term disruption on tram lines 10, 60 and 62, which was quickly resolved.
Irregular intervals in the metro network
Several faulty vehicles also caused problems for commuters in Vienna’s early morning traffic on Wednesday. Passengers had to be patient because of irregular intervals in the metro network. The U1, U3 and U4 were hit in both directions. Passengers on the U6 also felt the effects of traffic congestion.
