A large fire broke out on a farmland in Gilgenberg am Weilhart in Upper Austria on Wednesday when a vehicle battery was being charged. A smoldering fire broke out at silo bales, probably due to a technical defect in the loader that the 50-year-old owner had connected to a wheel loader.
The fire was only discovered on Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. by a 70-year-old resident, when the FI switch in the residential wing fell over several times. At that time, a building used as a wood depot, lubricant depot, workshop and machine shop was already in flames.
No injuries
The flames were fought by fire brigades from the entire district of Braunau. The other buildings, such as the residential building and the stables with 130 bulls, were saved from the fire spread. The fire caused significant property damage, but luckily no people or animals were injured. On Thursday around 03:00 “fire out” could be reported.
