January’s registered unemployment in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) increased by 2,107 people, 1.9% compared to December, to bring the total number of people registered in Lanbide to 112,905.
Compared to January 2022, there are 3,039 fewer unemployed people in the Basque Country, according to data provided today by the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy on Thursday, unemployment in Navarre has increased by 388 people over the past month, 1.23%, compared to the previous month. The total number of unemployed people is 31,998, 819 fewer (2.50%) than a year ago.
In Spain, unemployment rose by 70,744 people, 2.49% more than in December, after the end of the Christmas period. The increase in January this year is four times higher than that of the same month of 2022, when unemployment increased by 17,173 people, but is lower than those recorded in 2021 (+76,216 unemployed), 2020 (+90,248) and 2019 (+ 83,464) and the average increase in the months of January (+81,424 unemployed).
Hiring
In terms of recruitment, 56,072 contracts have been signed in the Basque Autonomous Community, of which 15,000 are of indefinite duration. On an annual basis, and despite the fact that hiring has stabilized since the labor reform and therefore the total volume has decreased, they are 73.13% more than in the same month of 2022.
