A hospital visitor was allegedly beaten by a rabid security guard at Vienna’s Ottakring clinic. The police are investigating. It is not the first problem with security guards in Viennese hospitals.
According to Georg H., an ugly assault took place at the Ottakring clinic on January 29. Meidlinger wanted to pick up his mother and his brother from Paviljoen 3 after the treatment. At the entrance, he asked the guard to open the barrier. However, the man with the beard did not understand him.
So Georg H. spoke to second security, who approved the entry. This enraged the former – presumably a Chechen. After a short exchange of words, the security guard would have beaten Georg H. through the open car window. “He hit me in the face and chest where I have a big scar from bypass surgery.”
The result: bruises and bruises. The brother confirms this. The police are investigating and have secured the video recordings. The health association (Wigev) wants to wait for the results. He has outsourced the security of the clinic to the company Sodexo.
Lawyer Johannes Bügler still sees Wigev as responsible and demands compensation for his client. “Hospitals are there to heal and not to get hurt,” says the process specialist.
It is not the first time that hospital security has been in trouble. A security guard at the Hietzing clinic allegedly threatened a young father with the “head-of-the-head gesture”. The “Krone” reported.
