Tragedy on a protective path – pedestrians (81) hit by a car in Innsbruck – dead

Terrible accident Thursday evening in Innsbruck: An 81-year-old resident was hit by a car while crossing a protective path and was flung onto the road. The pensioner suffered such serious injuries that he died at the scene of the accident.

The tragic accident happened around 6:30 p.m. A 58-year-old driver was driving south on Kaiserjägerstraße when the pedestrian wanted to cross a protective path at the same time. “The 81-year-old was dressed in black. According to the driver, she had overlooked the pedestrian. There was a collision,” the police said.

Injuries were too bad
The impact hit the pensioner against the windshield and then onto the street. He suffered serious injuries. Despite CPR by the alerted rescuers, the 81-year-old died at the scene of the accident.

According to the driver, she was driving at a speed of about 40 km/h. It was raining at the time of the accident. “EIt was dark, the street lights were on. The road was wet and there was reflection,” the researchers said.
