The key of a 94-year-old man was violently snatched from a parking lot in Freilassing (Bavaria) on Saturday morning and his car was stolen. The perpetrator drove the Mercedes across the border at the Saalach Bridge to Salzburg. The elderly man was injured in the attack and taken to hospital.
The criminal investigation department in Traunstein is investigating and is requesting information from witnesses, the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South reported in a broadcast.
The police then launched a large-scale manhunt in which numerous patrol car crews, including those from the Federal Police, took part. The Austrian police were immediately called in.
Who saw the perpetrator?
The wanted man is in his mid-thirties, between 1.60 and 1.70 meters tall and has a three-day beard. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and a black cap. A silver-grey Mercedes C180 with the license plate BGL-UC 79 was robbed.
