Participation desired – Wiener starts record attempt with 3D printers

Date:

A Viennese hobbyist wants to create a huge model railway system using privately owned 3D printers. Peter Ryborz is looking for supporters.

The 3D printer has embarked on a real triumph. How else can you explain that there is already salmon of it (we reported). Peter Ryborz now wants to set a new world record with the help of 3D printers. He was already at the Maker Faire in Vienna in 2019 with the largest private device of this kind. Hobbyists present their inventions at the fair. But then came Corona.

Largest system of private printers
Now the Viennese would like to start again with a unique joint project: the first self-made railway layout, which comes exclusively from private 3D printers. “Of course there is huge potential for hobbyists behind this,” says Ryborz.

Advanced technology
A rail system is planned with an imposing railway bridge, different track levels and several locomotives and transport trains, which provide a bullet track system with supplies and ensure constant movement. “Each train steers itself independently and can go in any direction, but even at existing level crossings, no collisions may occur thanks to a specially developed technique: you immediately change direction or wait,” explains the inventor.

Participation desired
But Ryborz needs support for this: “Whether it’s a silent supporter who can easily print parts at home, whether it’s an expert in a special field or someone who just wants to get involved, let us know,” says Ryborz. The more, the greater the chance of the world record.

New ideas
And Ryborz already has plans that go beyond the model railway system. “The next big step will be a metal 3D printer that not only enables fine work on locomotives and accessories, but also puts a whole new focus on making things that were never meant to be spare parts or that don’t exist afterwards. they just broke. Whether it’s antique toys, everyday technology, household items, imaginary things or even special parts of larger machines or cars, all of which must be functional again,” Ryborz describes.

The point of contact is the CreativBüro 01- 408 3303 (Tue + Fri 2-6 pm, Thurs optional), or the e-mail address peter@peterplus.eu.
