A fire broke out in a trading company in Purgstall an der Erlauf in the Lower Austrian district of Scheibbs on Wednesday evening. More than 180 men worked all night to put out the fire.
Emergency services were called just after 8 p.m. A company that offers pellet heating systems has been affected by the fire. According to the police, a family living on the property was able to leave the building in time.
When emergency services arrived, flames were shooting out of the affected part of the building. The fire also spread to a truck.

The highest alarm level (B4) was activated and nearly 190 members of the volunteer fire brigade were deployed, the district command Scheibbs reports. The fire was fought from above with aerial rescue equipment. The Red Cross and the police were also deployed.
No injuries were reported. The operation lasted until Thursday morning. The cause of the fire was initially unknown and has yet to be clarified by investigators. The amount of damage should be in the high six-digit range.
