The LKA Upper Austria managed to put an end to a worthless blackmailer. He had put a lot of pressure on a woman from Linz (33) and threatened to harm the children if she reported the crime. The woman called the police anyway. Now the man is behind bars.
A 33-year-old woman from Linz reported to the police that she had received a message from an unknown person on social media around midnight on January 25. She was blackmailed with a six-figure sum because her husband, a Serb, allegedly harmed an organization. The 40-year-old has until 4 p.m. on January 27 to transfer the money. There would be consequences for their children if they contact the police.

She felt so intimidated and scared by the news that she reported it. Due to the serious threat, the LKA took over the investigation. A 38-year-old from Linz has now been identified as the perpetrator. The suspect, a Bosnian, was arrested on February 8 by means of an arrest warrant issued by the public prosecutor’s office in Linz. He confessed to the facts and was taken to Linz prison.
