After the body was found on Wednesday morning in the Carinthian district of Völkermarkt, the preliminary autopsy result is now clear. Now the public prosecutor is officially investigating the murder.
After the shocking discovery of a body in Edling, the investigation is still in full swing. While half Edling was turned upside down by forensics on Thursday morning, coroners performed an autopsy on the 61-year-old victim. And terrible things came out: “The preliminary autopsy result says that death occurred from frostbite,” confirms Markus Kitz from the Klagenfurt prosecutor’s office to the “Krone”.
Facial injuries from violence
Investigators also wondered where the injuries to the woman’s face could have come from. “There were acts of violence that weren’t the result of an accident or a fall,” says Kitz.
Murder investigation
There is no trace of a suspect yet. “But we are now investigating murder,” the prosecutor explains in the interview with “Krone”. It is also hoped that the alleged perpetrator can be identified using DNA samples.
