He tried everything to evade the police, but hiding in a tree did not help a 34-year-old bicycle thief. He was arrested in Linz and taken to the police detention center.
A patrol was sent to the Seilerstätte to the Sisters of Charity in Linz around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday after a bicycle was stolen. A GPS tracker made it possible to trace the stolen e-bike and the perpetrator. This was observed shortly afterwards at the Hauptbahnhof bus station.
Bike left behind on flights
The perpetrator left the bicycle behind and fled on foot towards Volksgarten. There the man, a 34-year-old Romanian citizen, was found sitting in a tree and arrested by a SIG patrol.
He was then taken to the police detention center in Linz. The confiscated bicycle with a value of 2300 euros could be returned to the victim, a 38-year-old from Linz.
