There are several incidents of alleged child abduction attempts in Vienna and Lower Austria. Parents are shocked! Police are stepping up patrols in front of schools and appealing to parents.
Our children are not only at risk in schools. In the recent past, reports of possible child abductions are piling up again – reported the “Krone”. Shortly before the semester break – on February 2 – a phantom tried twice to lure children into a van near the Flötzersteig in Penzing. Police have now confirmed a connection in both cases.
Series will continue seamlessly after vacation
On the testimony day itself, a man in Ottakring grabbed a boy by the arm. In all cases, the victims reacted correctly and ran away. In the latter case, an eight-year-old boy would have witnessed the incident. The investigation by the National Investigation Department is certainly in full swing. Uniformed and plainclothes patrols are also intensifying around schools. The responsible police commands of the city are in contact with the managements and the representatives of the parents.
The police are alerted
The all-clear cannot be given yet, because apparently the series now continues seamlessly after the semester break. This time there was an incident in Traismauer in the district of St. Pölten (Lower Austria). Because it was “so delicious”, a man gave a girl candy in front of her mother in a supermarket parking lot. The description of the man: 40 to 50 years old, about 1.80 meters tall, travels in a gray and white van.
That rings alarm bells among detectives. Because the man would have grabbed a girl in Mistelbach at the end of January. The police therefore advises to sensitize children and to report incidents immediately.
