With a blood alcohol level of 1.78, a 25-year-old was out on Thursday in the early morning hours in Feldkirch (Vorarlberg). That didn’t last long – on the L191a he lost control of his car and crashed into numerous “obstacles” beyond the intended lane.
When the 25-year-old also went off track with his vehicle at around 1:30 a.m., he was on the L191a at the intersection with Churer Straße. There he first collided head-on with a traffic light for pedestrians, later with a parking meter and a street lamp. A few meters later, the car came to a stop in front of a tree.
Blessing in disguise
The young man and his passenger were lucky with the accident – they escaped without major injuries. Both were taken to Feldkirch State Hospital for an ambulance check-up as a precaution.
The car was a total loss. The wreckage was recovered and towed away by the fire service. The pedestrian lights, the parking meter and the street lamp were also completely destroyed. According to the police, the harvest damage was also enormous due to leaking company assets.
