A short night for many firefighters in St. Stefan ob Leoben in Upper Styria: Friday night a fire broke out in a workshop in the Kaisersberg district. Several vehicles and the building went up in flames.
The emergency call came in shortly after 3 a.m. on Friday: The Kaisersberg and St. Stefan fire brigades were the first on the scene and saw parts of the workshop and two vehicles inside and two outside the building completely engulfed in flames. Section alarm was issued immediately.
The fire brigades of Kraubath and St. Michael, Lobming, as well as the BTF Donawitz came to reinforce with their compressed air breathing apparatus and the command vehicle of the Leoben city fire brigade. In the end, about 70 firefighters had their hands full trying to get the fire under control.
Only after four hours could “fire out” be given. The cause of the fire is now under investigation. No one was injured.
