How mentally ill does a teenager have to be to find the brutal abuse of babies and young children sexually arousing? The young man’s psychotherapists will now have to answer this question. But first things first. A 17-year-old student from the center of Burgenland was now on trial before the regional court of Eisenstadt. The young man was accused of downloading and “consuming” brutal child porn – including that featuring babies – for several months in 2022. There were more than 2,000 files in total, some of which were alleged to have been passed on by the teen. Right at the beginning of the trial, the defendant’s lawyer tried to explain his actions in a less credible way: “My client’s social life suffered from the corona lockdowns and he slipped into the dark web.”
