More than 100 firefighters were engaged in a farm fire in Hirschbach im Mühlkreis on Sunday night. One problem was the strong wind.
At 9.41 pm, the alarm went off at ten fire brigades: The fire had broken out in the roof structure of the farm. When the fire brigade arrived, part of the yard was already ablaze. The owner, who is also the only occupant of the farm, was able to escape outside, but suffered a cut when trying to extinguish it.
Strong winds as a problem
The strong winds not only fueled the fire, but also made it difficult for firefighters to see them when they arrived. A fire watch watched Sunday morning whether embers flared up. The farm is no longer managed, but the damage is still very large. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
