Date:

The French are now heading to the polls early in the morning to take part in the presidential elections where Marine Le Pen could win a majority in the House and form a government.

Polling stations openFrance has this Sunday one of the most decisive events in the country’s recent historyAbout 49 million French people today elect the representatives who will form the parliament Edit which could provide an absolute majority for the extreme right party for the first time in history Marine Le Pen (National Group).

Following the results of the European elections on June 9, current French President Emmanuel Macron decided to revoke the elections amid a climate of instability and economic burden from inflation and high costs of living.

And the parliamentary elections were supposed to take place in 2027, together with the presidential elections. But the president decided to dissolve the assembly and bring forward the elections.

Le Pen, favorite

The various polls for this first round give victory to the far-right National Rally, with around 36% of the votes. With that result, Marine Le Pen’s people would approach the majority.

Behind them, several experts place the left-wing bloc, with 29% of the vote, and that of Macron, with 20.5%.

Ipar Euskal Herria

Following what has been said above, everything also points to the extreme right in Ipar Euskal Herria receiving the overwhelming majority of support. And given the outcome of the electoral elections, it is very likely that they will also receive their support in Iparralde.

Nevertheless, French citizens will have to elect a total of 577 deputies, of which only 3 will come from the Basque electorate.
