A 21-year-old Polish woman claims she is Maddie McCann, who was kidnapped in 2007 from a Portuguese holiday resort. On her Instagram page, she asks for help to contact Maddie’s parents and take a DNA test.
For the past few days, Julia W. has been trying desperately to make it believable that she is the long-missing Maddie McCann. On her Instagram page you can see numerous pictures of W. as a child – proof that she is Maddie. “Police in Poland and Great Britain are trying to ignore me,” W. complains in a post (see below).
W. is known to the Austrian model manager Dominik Wachta. In November 2019 she applied online at Wachta’s new, highly exclusive agency 1st Place Models. However, there was a friendly refusal from the desk boss.
Have parents given permission for DNA testing?
“Of course I can’t judge whether she is really Maddie or not,” the 39-year-old now explains. “But now that the parents have agreed to a DNA test, that will soon become clear. But if it was just an action to get famous, I would find it very distasteful. Let’s hope for the best for everyone.” Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have not yet officially responded to the Polish woman’s statements. According to W., they would only have given permission for a DNA sample.
Suspect accused of rape
On May 3, 2007, then three-year-old Madeleine from Great Britain disappeared from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal. The German Christian B. is seen as a suspect in the missing person case. The 45-year-old is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence for the rape of an American woman in Praia da Luz in 2005. The public prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig filed a complaint against B. again last year. He is charged with three counts of aggravated rape and two counts of child sexual abuse.
Christian B. denies having anything to do with Maddie’s kidnapping. He reportedly claims he was miles from where the girl was kidnapped and was having sex in his van at the time of her disappearance with a woman willing to confirm his alibi.
