A 77-year-old Austrian is now in hospital with broken ribs and a hip injury after an unknown skier allegedly rammed him from behind in Fieberbrunn (Tyrol’s Kitzbühel district). The second person involved in the accident has fled, the police are asking witnesses for information.
The local was standing on red run 125 in the Saalbach – Hinterglemm – Leogang – Fieberbrunn ski area between Tyrol and Salzburg at around 10 a.m. when, according to him, a second skier rammed him from behind on the first steep slope. The 77-year-old crashed hard and, according to an initial diagnosis, broke several ribs and suffered a hip injury. He was admitted to St. Johann District Hospital and hospitalized.
The second skier continued his journey immediately after the accident without disclosing his details. The stranger was probably a rather corpulent man wearing a blue windbreaker.
