Maundy Thursday – Czech Republic lifts mask requirements on buses and trains

Date:

Our neighboring Czech Republic will lift the FFP2 mask requirement for buses and trains on Maundy Thursday, which was introduced due to the corona pandemic. The situation in the hospitals is steadily improving and the number of positive cases is decreasing, Health Minister Vlastimil Valek said on CT public television on Sunday.

In time for the Easter travel season, the Liberal-Conservative government had already dropped all Corona entry rules. In healthcare and care institutions, however, the mask obligation will continue to apply for the time being. According to the latest figures, there were 295 new Covid infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

In neighboring Slovakia, however, FFP2 masks remain mandatory on public transport, in public buildings and at outdoor mass events. In principle, an FFP2 mask should also be worn outdoors if a distance of two meters from people outside the household cannot be guaranteed.
