Once again, the Eni petrol station near Salzburg’s main train station became the scene of a brutal robbery. The gas station itself has been the target of several armed robberies in the recent past. Now, a stranger robbed a 59-year-old on the company’s property, stabbed him with a knife, and left his victim injured.
Police rushed to the crime scene on Gabelsbergerstrasse in Salzburg-Schallmoos around 4:45 am on Wednesday. At the scene, the police found an injured Bosnian (59). The man said he was talking to an unknown person. Then his interlocutor would have pulled out a knife and “Money! Money!” screamed. Since the Bosnian had no cash on him, the perpetrator pushed him to the ground and stabbed him several times. The victim suffered cuts to his right hand.
The dark-clad, full-bearded stranger, who is said to be about six feet tall and 40 years old, grabbed his victim’s mobile phone and fled in the direction of the central station. An alarm search was unsuccessful. The victim was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. The National Investigation Department is conducting an investigation.
