Theft in Vienna on the street. A 13-year-old boy came up with the idea spontaneously. Together with a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, he attacked a few passers-by. And was, in fact, extremely uninhibited. Due to his young age, the Viennese is not of criminal age. And also skipped the trial of his accomplices, in which he was invited as a witness.
Three Viennese, aged between 13 and 17 at the time of the crime, spontaneously decided to rob: “We needed money. That’s why we did it.” – In front of the Cineplexx Donauzentrum (22nd) in the Vienna district of Donaustadt, the trio surrounded an unknown couple on a traffic island on 5 December. “Bring me money!” one 14-year-old yelled as he pulled up his jersey to reveal his softgun. With which he said he was “shooting in the woods”.
Trio left without loot
The “little one”, as both defendants call the 13-year-old ringleader, beat the male victim. In the end, the crime plan failed and the trio left without looting.
The two eldest ended up in court. The 13-year-old blond boy was “only” called as a witness. Which he clearly didn’t care – he stayed away from the hearing without excuse.
Accomplices (14 and 17) convicted
His young buddies were sentenced by the Vienna Regional Court. The 17-year-old with a relevant criminal record was sentenced to 12 months in prison, four of which were unconditional. As a first offender, the 14-year-old was sentenced to 6 months. Not legally binding.
