Date:

In the rest of the state’s offices, “surveillance has also been very high,” with “counties where they’re 100 percent closed,” the unions stressed, before asking management to sit down to negotiate.

More than 90% of Kutxabank branches in the CAV and all Navarrese branches have been closed in the first banking strike jointly declared by all unions represented in the entity (ELA, CC. OO., Pixkanaka, ALE, LAB and Asprobank ), the demand for a reinforcement of the staff that lightens their workload.

During this strike day, hundreds of people gathered in front of the headquarters of Kutxabank on Gran Vía in Bilbao, chanting slogans such as “the most solvent bank, at the expense of its people” and “more staff, more quality, less pressure and more security”.

In the absence of specific data on the percentage of staff who supported the strike, “we can say without any doubt and without margin of error that more than 90% of Kutxabank branches have closed the CAV and that in Navarra, 100% of the offices closed,” assured Oiana Lasagabaster of ELA.

In the offices of the rest of the government “there has also been a lot of supervision”, with “provinces where 100% is closed”.

He emphasized that “this strike is a great succesAnd for this reason, all union departments trust that the bank’s management will listen to them and sit down to negotiate to “reverse the situation” that the staff is suffering from.

Kutxabank “boasts of being the most solvent at the state level, it has very significant advantages year after year and, nevertheless, it mistreats the workforce” every time “with a greater workload, subject to a Busy ruthless trade and long working days” that “reduce the health” of the people who work at this Basque bank, he denounced.

The 75 contracts announced by Kutxabank are “fail” to ease the current workload and furthermore it is not detailed what percentage of these contracts are “people who are already within the entity, with whom we would not talk about new hires, but consolidation of positions that already exist in the entity” .

of the rest of new tenantsthe unions also don’t know “neither under what terms nor how they would be distributed across geography” and so they are demanding information, although they have warned that in their opinion “at least double” the announced hiring would be needed.

For the unions, this strike day is historic because 2 years ago the first strike was declared in Kutxabank during the negotiations of the agreement, but this time they called it all central represented in the bank and the support among the staff is also almost complete.
