Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at a press conference in Kiev about possible Chinese arms shipments to Russia and warned of an even more catastrophic course of events.
According to the Ukrainian news agency Interfax Ukraina, Zelenky said he “wanted to believe that China is on the side of a just world” – meaning on the side of Ukraine. “I will tell you honestly and it is important to me: I really want to believe that China will not supply arms to the Russian Federation.”
He promised to do everything possible to stop the supply of Chinese arms to Moscow. This, he said, could lead to World War III.
German news magazine Der Spiegel had previously announced that the Russian military was negotiating with a Chinese drone manufacturer over the supply of kamikaze drones. In early February, representatives of the US authorities also expressed concern that Beijing would start supplying weapons to Moscow.
