The choice of weapons was apparently not the best: two strangers dressed in black and masked attacked a supermarket late Saturday afternoon in Vienna’s Donaustadt district – armed with machetes. But not only the employees of the store did not cooperate, also the cash drawers…
The perpetrators entered the supermarket on Rennbahnweg around 6 p.m., were masked and dressed entirely in black and also had black shoulder bags with them. They spoke German but said little during the raid, said police spokesman Philipp Hasslinger.
In any case, the employees of the store did not respond to the request to open the cash drawer. When the strangers themselves took action and tried to break open the cash registers themselves with their weapons, they failed – and fled without taking any loot. There were numerous customers in the supermarket at the time of the attack and no one was injured.
The police hoped for witnesses at any police station or the National Investigation Department on 01/31310-67800.
