An incredible accident from 2017 was repeated in Styria on Saturday. The homeowner is shocked: “I’m incredibly sorry.”
Only last year, the emergency services in Schladming practiced the scenario “vehicle accident with several injured persons” not far from the current accident site.
In the back of my mind was a serious accident from 2017: at that time, a forest worker with his heavy vehicle from the “Schlösselkehre” of the L 772 fell in free fall onto the roof of the forge below. “That was during the day, my people were at work,” owner Christian St. recalls.
An incredible accident repeated itself
Miraculously, his employees were not injured, although the garage and roof of the house were badly damaged. Concrete parts hit parked cars and machines. The driver of the truck was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
No one imagined that such a disaster could happen again. But six years later, it happened again: “It’s a catastrophe, I’m so sorry this happened,” Schladming shakes his head. When he arrived late Saturday evening at his company – he lives elsewhere with his family – he immediately opened the garage and offered tea and food to the injured and helpers.
Big thanks to the emergency services
He does not want to think about the high degree of material damage he has incurred, the victims are now in the foreground: “There will be a solution for the financial damage, our case will continue – just like it was last year. ” time. Hopefully everything can be clarified soon with the insurance. But I’m so sorry for the victims,” he struggled with tears.
The entrepreneur would like to thank the numerous volunteers who have once again achieved incredible things.
