A German car that drove onto the provincial road in Tyrol just in front of an approaching bus was the cause of a collision in Pettneua. A. The bus driver braked suddenly, causing four passengers to fall and be injured.
The driver (57) drove a fully occupied bus on the L68 from Pettneu am Arlberg towards St. Anton am Arlberg at around 09:30 on Tuesday. At an intersection with a municipal road (Vadiesen), a 23-year-old German at the same height suddenly turned his car from the left onto the L68.
Passengers stood on the bus
Both drivers braked, but were unable to avoid a collision. Four people, a teacher and three schoolgirls aged 11 to 13, who were standing on the bus while it was moving, were thrown forward by the bus’s abrupt, jerky braking and fell.
All four persons were injured to an unknown degree and were taken by ambulance to hospital in Zams after first aid. Significant material damage was caused to both vehicles. Traffic in the vicinity of the accident site was intermittently halted during the accident investigation.
