A 51-year-old passenger on a regional train in Assling threatened a conductor at ticket control with stabbing movements of a pocket knife. He immediately notified the police.
On Tuesday around 3 p.m., a conductor performed ticket checks on a regional train from Lienz to Sillian. He also asked a 51-year-old Austrian to show his card.
The man pulled out a pocketknife
The man, who was clearly very drunk, was unable to show the conductor a ticket and an argument ensued. The 51-year-old threatened the conductor with the blade of an open pocket knife and then simulated stabbing movements.

The conductor alerted the police, who then arrested the Austrian at Thal train station. The knife was confiscated by the officers and a provisional weapon ban was issued. After consultation with the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office, the 51-year-old is set free.
