The incredible clip is currently doing the rounds on social media. “Books should be written about these people and they are just quietly defending our country,” a Twitter account responded to the video. However, the exact background of when and where the shot was taken remains unclear.
Even when a Russian armored vehicle, apparently of the type BTR-82, attacks the soldier’s hideout, he remains apparently calm. The turret is equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon and a machine gun. Definitely not an opponent you like to encounter.
Trench is shaken – soldier remains calm
The recording shows at least three explosions around the shelter – these could have come from the high-explosive shells of the armored vehicle’s gun. However, it is also possible that another weapon was fired at the soldier, such as a shoulder-launched rocket launcher. Despite the shelling, the soldier in the trenches moves calmly and thoughtfully – almost unimpressed by the countless projectiles falling next to him. He hardly seems to flinch when his hole is shaken.
In the video, it’s clear that even simple fortifications, like any in the clip, offer a lot of protection against direct fire – even from larger caliber guns firing high-explosive shells. The clip also shows how brutal and debilitating the fighting is on the front lines in Ukraine in the war that has now lasted for a year.
